I.T. Radio: Columbus, Ohio

BMG and Erika dig into one of the most important cities in Midwestern music, with Titonton Duvante, Kevin Kennedy and Jed James.

Detroit and Columbus have a historic connection through music, starting with Dan Bell and Claude Young going there in the early Midwestern rave days. For this episode, we explore that connection via three living examples of this cross-pollination: We have an hour-long DJ set from musical savant Titonton Duvante, who has released on Dan Bell’s 7th City; Kevin Kennedy, who has released on Shake’s Frictional label, performs an improvisational live show as FBK; and we’ll present a live show from the man behind Midwest Fresh, Jed James. Midwest Fresh is a monthly party in Columbus that celebrates all that is good about the Midwest warehouse tradition, with an ethos that would inspire Underground Resistance or Fugazi and Dischord Records. The realest of the real people. – BMG
