I.T. Radio: Claude Young
One of the city’s greatest techno exports, the acclaimed DJ and producer pays a visit to BMG and Erika in our Detroit radio studio.
In Detroit, techno isn’t just a club genre but a massive part of the city’s radio unique radio legacy. In honor of this tradition of adventurously freeform broadcasting, we’ll cap our live programming from Detroit each day with a special one-hour show from Interdimensional Transmissions, custodians of homegrown techno and electro since 1994. On Wednesday, May 25th, Claude Young will join IT bosses BMG and Erika in the studio. Young’s resume – a DJ-Kicks mix, DJ appearances at Tresor and Berghain, releases on labels like Axis and Djax-Up-Beats – reads like that of techno royalty, yet he still feels underrated. Ahead of his first appearance at Movement in five years, he’ll share his unique perspective on the city’s music scene and its place in the wider world.
