Return to the Source — Day 3

For Lot Mass 2025, we're proud to tap six artists who mean a lot to us. Friends, fam, artists who inspire us and have deep connections to Pittsburgh, our ethos, our sound. It is a Lot Mass lineup that feels the most "Hot Mass" yet. Kicking off in the sunshine right after No Way Back, it's another Monday shitshow with a dialed-up roster of DJ fam from near and far.

Kiernan Laveaux b2b Johnny Zoloft
Kicking us off right after No Way Back are two of our favorite Pittsburgh freakies: Kiernan Laveaux and Johnny Zoloft going back to back.

With wandering ears and an appetite for adventure, Johnny Zoloft generates rich sound excursions that shift between strange and familiar landscapes with ease. Along with MIRA MIRA, they co-organize the UHAUL Disco party series, which has been throwing lo-fi hi-quality DIY raves in Pittsburgh since 2019. Kiernan Laveaux is a connective rhythmic energy conduit & ecstatic beat conductor from the Great Lakes. A boundless ball of discordant energy, she’s an adventurous spirit - conducting the vibrant forces of our world that are transmitted through the unbridled passion contained within her DJing.

Together, this duo is responsible for one of our favorite releases from 2024 under their "JZKL" moniker, Pancake of the Infinite – the launch EP for the Sweet Abyss imprint. We've come to know both for wild, freewheeling DJ sets from the ether, and we can't think of a better choice to start the Lot Mass party train down the tracks.

Willow
Willow, aka Sophie Wilson, is known for her distinctive sound—a blend of dubby textures, minimal rhythms, and influences spanning hip-hop, broken beat, leftfield house, and ambient techno. Her breakthrough came in 2014 with the track Feel Me, championed by Move D and released on Workshop, earning her widespread recognition. Since then, her intricate productions and dynamic DJing have taken her to iconic clubs like Panorama Bar and De School, as well as festivals like Houghton and Gottwood.

After lighting up her Pittsburgh debut at Hot Mass last year, we’re excited to welcome Willow to Detroit for Lot Mass. Her refined, genre-spanning sets make her the perfect fit to push our daytime dirt rave right up to the brink.

Gay Marvine
We're also turning to a proper Detroit legend, welcoming Gay Marvine to throw down in the dirt with us. Chuck has been an anchor for Honcho and Hot Mass since our beginnings, while also overlapping with much of the IT crew. While known for his disco edits and production, for us, it's his blistering psychedelic house and techno sets that are his secret weapon. We have no idea what to expect, other than his incredible range and unique sound will be on full display.

Baronhawk Poitier b2b Joyce
Our final set sees a b2b from DC's DANCE CLUB party residents. Growing up between Baltimore and Washington, DC shaped life for Baronhawk Poitier. Listening to local radio stations, breakdancing with friends, and sorting through records while working at The Record Exchange heavily influenced his pursuit of a career as a producer and DJ. He’s known for his unmatched energy behind the decks, blending house and techno with a sprinkle of ballroom.

As her label 1432 R might suggest, Joyce aims for a genre defying journey in all of her DJ sets. The 10 year old label has published 28 releases of experimental electronic with a wide ranging palette. A fresh and explorative hopefulness laces all of her work which has built a reputation for its dedication to authenticity with a surreal twist.

Together, they'll be diving headfirst into a groove-rich, genre-defying closing, setting us all up perfectly to hand the party baton to The Bunker.

Return to the Source 2025 is an organic evolution of the original concept, with careful attention to detail put in at every level. Our weekend at the Tangent includes 4 parties for the price of one weekend wristband, with an outdoor area containing a harm reduction zone, food truck, and an incredible outdoor sound system. Once the music starts at No Way Back on Sunday night, it won't end until Tuesday morning — 32 hours of continuous music. A weekend wristband will allow you to experience this ever changing environment with no interruptions. The Benefactor weekend wristband is simply a donation tier, to support the continuation of events like these, and does not grant any more benefits than a regular weekend wristband.
